Brother Nathan M. Cochran, O.S.B., a monk of Saint Vincent Archabbey, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014. He was born June 24, 1957 in Marion, Ohio, a son of the late Blaine R. and Ruth E. (Roach) Cochran. A brother, Blaine A. Cochran of Edison, Ohio, survives him. He is survived by Phyllis Disbrow of Edison, who with her late husband, and her daughter, Sue Arter and her husband, David, of Westerville, Ohio, were dear friends.  Read More

Dumm, O.S.B., a Benedictine priest of Saint Vincent Archabbey, died Sunday, November 17, 2013. Born on a farm between Carrolltown and Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, on October 1, 1923, Father Demetrius R. Dumm, O.S.B. grew up with eight siblings, the son of the late Gordon and the late Esther (Kirsch) Dumm. His brother, the late Father Wilfred Dumm, O.S.B., was also a Benedictine priest of Saint Vincent Archabbey. Rev. Sebastian A. Samay, O.S.B., a monk of Saint Vincent Archabbey, Latrobe, Pennsylvania, died October 1, 2013. He was 87. Born June 10, 1926 in Pécöl, Hungary, he was the son of the late Maria Vurdák Samay and Professor Ödön Samay. One of eight children, Father Samay was predeceased by his brother Wolf A. Samay, Esq. and his sister Ildiko Nestler Molnár, and is survived by: his brothers—Attila G. Samay and his wife Ildiko of Sylmar, California; Edmund C. Samay of Chester, New Jersey; Z. Lance Samay, Esq. and his wife Karen A. Harrington of Bernardsville, New Jersey; Marot A. Samay of Chester, New Jersey; his sister Sheila Erickson of Asbury Park, New Jersey; 17 of his 19 nephews and nieces; 24 grandnephews and grandnieces; 4 great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces, and countless Brothers of the Benedictine Order.
