Please Help Us To Keep The Legacy Of Boniface Wimmer Moving “Forward! Always Forward! Everywhere Forward!”

Posted by AbbAdm249 on 08/24/11

Saint Vincent Archabbey, College and Seminary have been carrying forward the legacy of Archabbot Boniface Wimmer since its founding in 1846. Throughout these years Wimmer’s educational, pastoral and missionary activities and charitable works have been dependent upon the support of those who believe in his vision and mission to America. A strong financial foundation is essential to assure our stability and future.

Many of you have been longstanding supporters of our efforts to continue Archabbot Wimmer’s legacy by providing support for the health care and retirement needs of our senior monks, the education of our junior monks as well as our outreach to the poor and marginalized of the world.

Since 1846 the Benedictine Community of Saint Vincent Archabbey has been living out Our Lord’s command to go forth and to preach the Good News to all the world. While we live in a world today that has become much closer as a result of the rapid developments in global communications and information technology, the task of evangelization has become much more urgent and necessary. One thing the world has learned through painful experience is that technology can be used to advance the causes of freedom, peace and justice or to promote hatred, fear and division.

Saint Vincent Archabbey, through its monastic presence in Latrobe, and through its educational, pastoral and missionary works in all parts of the world, continues to respond to the Lord’s command “to go forth to all natons to proclaim the Good News.”

Through Saint Vincent College, Seminary and Parish in Latrobe and through its nearly 30 parishes in the eastern United States, along with the campus ministry program at Penn State, the Benedictine Military School in Savannah and its foreign missions in Brazil and Taiwan, the proclamation of the gospel message continues.

Please help Saint Vincent Archabbey continue its mission of education and evangelizaton in the years to come.
