 Father Clement J. Heid, O.S.B., the son of the late Frank and Anna (Schwab) Heid, a monk of Saint Vincent Archabbey, Latrobe, PA, died on October 25, 2004. He was 88 years old. Father Clement was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on February 21, 1916. He was one of six children. His other brothers are John and Leonard Heid, of Erie, and the late Martin Heid, Father Roland Heid, O.S.B., who was also a Benedictine monk of Saint Vincent Archabbey and Francis Heid. Read More

He was eighty years old. Fr. Philip was born on June 7, 1924 in Assebroek, Belgium. He was the brother of Rev. Father Christian was born in Webster, New York, on December 3, 1919. He is one of five children. His brother is Rev. Msgr. Marvin LeFrois of Valdosta, Georgia. On this day in 2002, Cardinal Adam Maida received an honorary doctor of theology degree; Bishop Norbert F. Gaughan, a 1945 Seminary graduate, was appointed second Bishop of Gary, Indiana in 1984, and died on the same date in 1999; Bishop Rene Henry Gracida, a 1959 Seminary graduate was appointed the bishop of Pensacola-Tallahassee on this day in 1975.
