Saint Vincent de Paul
This day now marks the feast of Saint Vincent de Paul, for whom Bishop Kenrick dedicated and named the Saint Vincent parish. The original date of dedicate was July 19; however, the feast day was changed to the date of the death of Vincent de Paul, who went on to found an orphanage, and who was known as an advocate of the poor. He was canonized in 1737, 77 years after his death.
