Saint Vincent Archabbey Vocations Office will host the Adore 2097 Tour, an evening of praise, worship, and adoration by Catholic musicians April 13 in the Saint Vincent College Carey Center Gymnasium. A special Traveler’s Mass will be held in the Mary Mother of Wisdom Student Chapel at 2 p.m. before the event. The event will begin at 3 p.m. in the gymnasium. Advance tickets are $10. Cost is $15 at the door. Contact Father Fred Byrne at 724-805-2482 for tickets or additional information.

The event will feature the uplifting music of three artists as well as an empowering message from youth preacher Paul George. Matt Maher will perform his critically acclaimed and widely covered praise and worship songs. The congregation will be encouraged and inspired to participate and worship with the other two featured musicians, Kelly Pease and Josh Blakesley.

April 13 is the day that Pope Benedict XVI has consecrated as the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. Father Fred invites local college and high school students, families, and parishioners of all Christian faiths and denominations to attend.

Saint Augustine of Hippo
The periodic repainting and restoration of the Basilica's interior was begun in late summer of 1933, and included new lighting in the choir stalls. Instead of the constructed scaffolding used when the Basilica was built, workmen used a movable scaffolding. The Journal (November, 1933) reported: "This scaffold was (apparently) so easily movable that one never knew quite where to expect it in the morning on going down to Conventual Mass."
