02/22/12, All Day
Blessed Pope John Paul II
In October of 1904, a new barn was constructed, replacing one destroyed by fire, and continuing Saint Vincent's tradition of self-sustenance, as much as possible. The barn, 223 feet long, 67 feet wide, and 50 feet high, housed 40 horses, 50 cattle, hay, wheat, oats, rye, corn, and farming machinery. Saint Vincent farmed until the 1970s.
